Nuri Bilge Ceylan

Born in Istanbul in 1959. After graduating in engineering from Bogaziçi University, he studied directing at Mimar Sinan University in Istanbul. He made his first short film, Koza, in 1994, and his feature film, The Town in 1998. Clouds of May (1999) is his second feature film. Selected at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival, Uzak win the Grand prix and a double price for the main actors. The film won the Antigone d'Or at the Montpellier Festival in the same year. He won the prize for directing for Three Monkeys in Cannes in 2008.
