Abandoned in a park, the two-year-old girl Asia is found by Patti, a circus woman living with her husband Walter in a trailer park in San Basilio on the outskirts of Rome. With the help of Tairo, a teenager who lives with his grandma in an adjacent container, Patti starts to search for the girl's mother and gives the girl a new home for an uncertain period of time.


 
 
Tizza Covi

Born in Bolzano, Italy in 1971. She completed studies in photography at the Höhere Graphische Lehrund Versuchsanstalt in Vienna from 1992 to 1994. A work residency took her to Rome between 1995 and 1998. After additional residency stipends for artistic photography in Rome and Paris, she now lives and works in Vienna as a freelance artist and filmmaker. Together with Rainer Frimmel, she made the documentary fi lm Das ist alles (That’s All) in 2001and Babooska (2005). La Pivellina (2009), their first long feature, was selected at the Directors' Fortnight.

 
Rainer Frimmel

Born in Vienna in 1971. He completed studies in photography at the Höhere Graphische Lehrund Versuchsanstalt in Vienna from 1992 to 1995. After residency stipends for fine art photography in Rome, Paris, and New York, he now lives and works in Vienna as a freelance artist and filmmaker. In 2002, he founded with Tizza Covi their film production company Vento Film to be
able to produce their films independently. They won several awards for their documentaries. La Pivellina, their first feature film, was selected at the Directors' Fortnight in 2009.
