Two lonely people at opposite chapters of life accidentally meet on a busy summer day in a Cairo taxi. Frail old Shawky and bubbly young Doaa are both caught up in their busy routines as their race through the city evolves into a journey of self-discovery that reconnects them to life.

Sherif El Bendary

Born in Cairo in 1978. Graduated from the Applied Arts College and from the High Cinema Institute in Cairo in 2007 where he has been teachingfilm directing since 2008. In 2006, he signed his first short fiction film, Rise and Shine, followed by At Day's End (2008) both selected in competition in Montpellier. With his short film Curfew, part of the collective feature 18 days, set during the Egyptian revolution, Sherif was officially selected in Cannes 2011. He is finalizing his first feature film Ali, the Goat and Ibrahim and is currently developping his next feature, Two Rooms and a Parlor. Dry Hot Summers is his last fiction short.
