After escaping years of incarceration, a nameless man tries to find his way home in a Cairo turned upside down by the protests of the Jan25 Egyptian Revolution. As he revisits the family and country he has been separated from for so long, he finds that everything about life as he knew it has irrevocably changed.


 
 
Ahmad Abdalla

Born in 1978 in Cairo. He studied classical music in the 90s (viola). Working as a film editor since 1999, he edited some of the commercial Egyptian films (2001-2004) and worked in documentary films as well. He started working on feature-length films in 2002 as an editor, and on some titles as a visual effects supervisor and credits designer. Heliopolis (2009) is his first feature film as a director. Winner of the Best first screenplay Award of Sawiris foundation in Cairo 2008 for Heliopolis. Then he directed Microphone, selected in 2011 at Cinemed. His film Rags and Tatters won the Golden Antigone Award in 2013.
