The Tibetan word Bardo means literally intermediate state also translated as transitional state or in-between state. It is a state that lies between two other states, between life and death, sadness and joy, being a child and growing up. Bardo is a story about two friends, a little girl and a balloon which reminds her of her father. A story about little girl’s world coming face to face with grownups world while attending her father’s funeral.

Marija Apcevska

Marija Apcevska was born in Macedonia in 1987 and graduated at the Academy of Dramatic Arts, Skopje, Macedonia, department Film and TV Directing, in the class of mentor-director Stole Popov. She continued her education at the New York Film Academy, LA, California with master degree in filmmaking. Hew works have been part of numerous festivals and she has won several prizes for her films. The short film Bardo premiered at the 2012 Berlin Film Festival. She works as writer, director and AD in films, commercials and TV.
