An implacable indictment of the myth of virginity in Tunisian society and, more generally, in Islam. The author was imprisoned twice during the shooting of the film. Ben Ali’s henchmen did not want it at all. The film was censored by the Tunisian government. This was in another time. What is going to become of the filmmaker Jamel Mokni’s Hymen National?
