These Girls is a documentary that plunges us into the universe of teenage girls living on the streets of Cairo, a universe of violence and oppression as well as freedom. They live only in the present, by necessity. They astonish us by the strength they exude, the laughs that enliven them and the hardness they have to use to face each day. It is also the story of their encounter with another woman, Hind, a practising, veiled Moslem, animated by the universal principles of respect for every person. This film shows a world invisible to indifferent eyes, but whose existence testifies to the vital and secret resorts of society. |
