Laredo, August 22, 1496. A fleet departs for Flanders. It intends to take the Infanta Juana to the court in Brussels, where she is to marry the man who will later be known as Philip the Fair. The first encounter is earth-shattering. As soon as their eyes meet there is an uncontrollable attraction and desire between them. They forget their political obligations and give themselves over to their feelings. However, fate has other plans for them. The deaths of her older siblings and her mother, Isabella, make the Infanta into the Queen of Castile and heir to the crown of Aragon...

Vicente Aranda
Born in Barcelona in 1926. After having spent his childhood and adolescence in Barcelona, he spent seven years in Venezuela where he was technician for an american firm. Always very interested in cinema which he taught himself, he founds his own company when he returns to Spain.
